Hello guys!!! Did you enjoy last Saturday's sermon on BGR by Glenn? I did, i personally thought it was REALLY funny and interesting. I laughed so hard until Estella had to tell me "Eh Relax..."
And the nice person that i am, I decided to share my Sermon notes with you guys since it's such an interesting topic that you can learn from. It is mostly accurate, except when I am laughing too hard to write anything.
BGR (Building Godly Relationships) Part 1
Main Verse: Eccl 12:1
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them."
3 "I"s to remember:
1) Infatuation
- feelings without any commitment
- Love is not an emotion, it is a commitment, a decision
-That is why we have a wedding vow: "For better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health...." ==> This is a COMMITMENT, a DECISION to make!
2) Immaturity
-Build certain stages first!
Friendship=> Courtship=> Loveship (When you are serious enough, with marriage in mind) => Marriage.
- You can never be a good lover unless you are a good friend.
-Don't go out exclusively. (That means, no going out one-on-one, just two of you on a date.) Why? Cos' God gave us a community. We therefore need to relate with a bigger body of Christ. Only when we can relate to a bigger body, then we can proceed to the next step. Remember, you can never be a good lover unless you are a good friend to others.
-Pray for your future partner. Ask God to bless him/her. Pray ah, not prey!
-When you pray for your future partner, you prepare your character!
3) Implications
-There are consequences for whatever decisions you make. Therefore, a good way to do a checklist is to ask yourself: Is what I am doing glorifying to God at all?
In all things, glorify God. Remember Him in the days of your youth and use your days to glorify Him. Don't wait till you are old, because you may not have a chance. Life is unpredictable, make the most out of it to glorify God!

This coming Saturday, Glenn will be speaking again, on Part 2 of BGR. He's also willing to have a time of Questions and Answers session. If you have any questions but are too shy to ask, you can write them down, fold it up and pass it to Glenn/me/estella. We will pass your question to him directly without peeking. Come and be blessed. Seeya there!
Love lots,
Ee Ling
